Over the course of the last 2 years, a team of researchers from Bergische Universität Wuppertal (Jonas von der Heyden, Martin Asman, Markus Zdrallek, Tibor Jager) and TU Dortmund (Philip Binfet, Nils Schlüter, Moritz Schulze Darup) joined forces in an interdisciplinary project with the goal of enhancing privacy in smart grids.

Since each member of the team contributed from their special expertise in cryptography, control theory or smart power grids, the project was able to find a privacy-preserving solution that is more secure, practical and efficient than anything an intra-disciplinary team could have accomplished. The resulting paper Privacy-Preserving Power Flow Analysis via Secure Multi-Party Computation has been accepted for publication in IEEE Transactions on Smart Grids, one of the leading journals in the field of electrical engineering.
